The aim of this blog is to casually document my service in Morocco over the course of my 27 months as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I'm working as a Youth Developer in a Dar Chebab in a place I like to call Sedona-miz. After leaving home on September 7th 2009, I'm scheduled to return November 2011. Stay tuned...
About
I am a 24 year old Peace Corps Volunteer in the midst of her 27 month service in the Islamic Kingdom of Morocco. Working as a Youth and Community Development volunteer, I teach daily classes at my village's Youth Center, which is located roughly an hour south of Marrakech. During my service, I have conducted English Classes, Environment clubs, Debate teams and discussion groups, Language Immersion camps held during the Spring and Summer, and various sports related activities - mostly of the yoga and soccer variety. However, when I'm not developing the aforementioned youth, grubbing on couscous, watching sheep slaughters, and butchering Arabic with the locals, I tend to spend my time cooking, reading, hiking, planning future vacations, and as of recently - studying for the GRE and applying to Grad schools.
